Spoiler warning: this article reveals the ending of the series Dream To You (episode 12), including the time jump, the characters’ career paths, and the conclusion of the main couple’s story.
The final episode of “Dream To You” brings Woo Soo-bin and Joo Yi-jae’s coming-of-age journeys and relationship to a close. The story explores the couple’s separation for professional reasons and directly answers whether they can find their way back to each other after spending time apart.
The plot resolves its remaining emotional conflicts and gives the couple a definitive, happy ending, with no cliffhanger setting up a continuation.
The decision to separate and the trip
The final stretch begins as tensions surrounding Yi-jae’s departure intensify. Soo-bin tries to convince her that they can maintain their relationship during her two years of study abroad, arguing that the distance does not have to mean breaking up. Yi-jae, however, rejects the idea, explaining that staying in the relationship would make her emotionally dependent on him and prevent her from achieving the personal growth she needs.
After the breakup, Yi-jae submits her application and is accepted into the program in Canada. In one final attempt to reconnect before she leaves, Soo-bin gives her the screenplay for the film “Dream,” expressing his hope that the project will inspire her professionally, just as “Gyeongseong Yeonga” did in the past. A final attempt to say goodbye at the airport fails, and Yi-jae leaves while Soo-bin is left with a hair tie she left behind.
The time jump and their separate lives
The series then introduces a time jump. In Canada, Yi-jae dedicates herself to her studies and begins preparing a new film. Back in Korea, Soo-bin goes through a period of stagnation, turning down offers and continuing to miss Yi-jae, who remains on his mind even after the successful VIP screening of “Gyeongseong Yeonga.”
Years later, things begin to change when Seo In-wook approaches Soo-bin about a film crew from the Geumseong Film Festival. In-wook encourages him to give an interview, seeing it as an opportunity for Soo-bin to finally move forward from the past.

The reunion and the award
While preparing for the interview at the studio, Joo Yi-jae unexpectedly returns and is immediately embraced by Soo-bin. The series confirms that Yi-jae has returned to Korea after being nominated for the Best New Director award at the Geumseong Film Festival.
When asked about her plans, Yi-jae gives Soo-bin the screenplay she wrote in the past and suggests that they work together on a new film. Soo-bin agrees to both the professional partnership and rekindling their relationship. Later, Yi-jae wins the award and, during her acceptance speech, reflects on the ups and downs of their relationship and how those experiences helped motivate her through her professional challenges.
The couples’ endings and the series conclusion
The series also provides brief conclusions for its secondary storylines: Oh Ha-na and Shim Yoo-geon’s relationship becomes public through news reports, while Seo In-wook and Choi Sa-rang’s relationship is left on a more open-ended note.
The final scene brings Soo-bin and Yi-jae’s story to a close. After spending the night together, Soo-bin calls Yi-jae “my dream” and slips a ring onto her finger, sealing their reconciliation and giving the series a definitive and happy ending.
