1. Made in Korea Season 2 — September 9

The month’s first major premiere is also its only sequel. Made in Korea Season 2 moves the story nine years forward, placing Baek Ki-tae (Hyun Bin) in a far more powerful position within the KCIA. He is no longer simply an ambitious operative fighting his way upward: he now has authority, influence and a much longer list of enemies.
Jang Geon-young (Jung Woo-sung) returns with time, resentment and a more calculated strategy on his side. Woo Do-hwan is also expected to take on a larger role as the political struggle becomes increasingly personal.
That time jump is the season’s most intriguing choice because it allows the drama to examine what power has done to its characters rather than merely continuing the previous confrontation.
Disney+ lists September 9 for the second season. New viewers should begin with the six-episode first season, since the sequel continues its alliances, betrayals and central rivalry rather than starting a separate story.
2. The Ordinary Jackpot — September 10

The Ordinary Jackpot begins with a familiar fantasy—winning the lottery and never having to work again—before taking the less obvious route. Gong Eun-tae (Lee Joon-hyuk) wins 1.3 billion won, a life-changing amount that still may not be enough to fund a permanent escape from work. He returns to the office, but he no longer sees his job in quite the same way.
The money matters because it changes the balance of power. With less fear of losing his salary, Eun-tae can look at unreasonable bosses, exhausted colleagues and everyday workplace humiliations with new clarity.
Lee Joon-hyuk’s understated comic timing makes him an especially interesting choice for a character who has gained financial breathing room without suddenly becoming a different person.
Seo Hyun-woo, Ok Ja-yeon and Oh Dae-hwan are also part of the ensemble. The ten-episode series is adapted from a web novel and premieres in South Korea through TVING on September 10. Viki’s international page lists the drama as coming soon and already identifies English among its subtitle languages; access may differ by territory.
3. A Love Other Than Yours — September 12

Namgung Ho (Seo Kang-joon) and Lee Mi-do (Ahn Eun-jin) have been together for ten years. Their intimacy has survived, but passion no longer occupies the same place in the relationship. As new people enter their lives, the couple must decide whether marriage is still a choice they actively want or simply the next step everyone expects them to take.
The premise could have produced a conventional love triangle. Its more compelling possibility, however, is the chance to examine how affection, loyalty, habit and desire can coexist without an easy villain.
Mi-do is a film director going through a career slump, while Ho works as an assistant manager at a confectionery company. Their professional frustrations give the relationship a life beyond romantic indecision.
Lee Joo-ahn and Jo Aram play the newcomers who unsettle the couple’s familiar routine. Directed by Hwang Seung-gi and Lee Ga-ram, the 14-episode KBS2 series begins on September 12 and will release new episodes on Saturdays and Sundays. Prime Video has confirmed the same date for its streaming launch.
4. The Scandal — September 18

The Scandal transports Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’s Dangerous Liaisons to Joseon’s aristocratic society, where desire, marriage and reputation become instruments of power. The classic story has inspired many screen adaptations, but this version has an immediate advantage in a lead trio capable of making its dangerous game feel like an event.
Son Ye-jin plays Lady Cho, a noblewoman who proposes a wager with the potential to upend Bukchon’s high society. Ji Chang-wook is Cho Won, Joseon’s most notorious seducer, while NANA plays Hui-yeon, the woman drawn into their scheme.
The central question is not simply whether Cho Won can win her over, but who is really controlling the game—and what each participant will lose when desire stops following the plan.
Director Jung Ji-woo, whose credits include Tune in for Love, is a strong fit for material built on restraint, longing and behavior. Netflix has announced a global premiere on September 18, making this the title on the list with the clearest worldwide release.
5. Dive Into You — September 26

The last premiere on the list combines time travel, body-swapping and first love. Twin siblings Yoon Ha-na (Kim Ji-yeon) and Yoon Ha-ru (Jang Se-hyuk) discover an old camcorder that can send them into the past. It appears to offer a way out of a loss they have never overcome: the death of Jung Woo-jae (Park Seo-ham), Ha-na’s first love.
Saving someone means changing events the twins do not fully understand. That gives the fantasy device an emotional purpose, allowing the story to explore grief, guilt and the temptation to rewrite painful decisions. The siblings’ body swap also creates room for comedy, preventing the series from becoming entirely consumed by tragedy.
Dive Into You is scheduled to premiere in South Korea on September 26. Viki lists the 16-episode series as coming soon and includes English among the planned subtitle languages, although its exact availability can vary by region. Park Seo-ham’s return to romance will be a major draw for viewers who have followed him since Semantic Error.
Which September 2026 drama should you watch first?
The answer depends on the kind of story you want. Made in Korea Season 2 is the clear choice for a dense power struggle and viewers already invested in the first season. The Scandal offers the month’s most glamorous combination of period drama, seduction and manipulation. For a more grounded relationship story, A Love Other Than Yours has the strongest adult-romance premise.
