Da Reum considers giving up Paris because of Ha Gi
The opportunity to work temporarily in Paris comes after Appello outperforms SE Corporation and becomes a partner of the HAN brand. For Da Reum, it is exactly the kind of experience that could broaden her professional perspective. The problem is that the offer arrives just as her relationship with Ha Gi finally seems to be at peace.
Ha Gi tries to respond as the company president. In front of her, he says that an employee’s growth also benefits Appello and makes an effort to appear calm. Away from Da Reum, however, it is a very different story: he becomes distracted, burns his food, and admits that he does not want to see her leave.
The possibility of another important person disappearing from his life awakens his old fears, especially after losing his mother and Choi Sung Wook’s recent betrayal. Ha Gi wants to support his girlfriend, but he cannot completely hide how much the distance scares him.
Da Reum notices his insecurity and hesitates to submit her application. For a moment, she genuinely considers giving up Paris to stay by his side. Ha Gi is the one who stops that from happening.
Even though the thought of their separation pains him, he remembers how Da Reum’s eyes lit up when she talked about the opportunity. Rather than asking her to stay, Ha Gi encourages her to travel, learn, and find out how far she can go professionally.
The gesture completes an important transformation for the character. Ha Gi stops trying to control everything around him and chooses to trust Da Reum and the relationship they have built.
Distance does not separate the couple
Da Reum accepts the offer and leaves for Paris. The two begin a long-distance relationship, making the distance work without treating her career as the problem.
Ha Gi discreetly prepares everything Da Reum might need for the trip and tries to support her without showing all of his discomfort. When she leaves, he stays in Korea, learning to handle a relationship that cannot be managed like Appello.
Their separation does not serve as punishment for the couple. It proves that their romance does not depend solely on physical proximity. After so much distrust, secrecy, and interference, they can move forward because they have finally learned to believe in each other.
Da Reum also stops being just the employee in love with her boss. In Paris, she broadens her experience, takes on new responsibilities, and confirms that she earned her place on merit.
Da Reum returns earlier than expected
After completing her work period in France, Da Reum returns a day early. She does not tell Ha Gi and surprises him during an Appello gathering held to welcome new employees.
The scene brings back a familiar company joke. Kim Mi Young asks the new hires whether they are on “Team Ha Gi” or “Team Lee Chan.” Before the conversation can go any further, Da Reum arrives and completely changes the mood of the evening.
Ha Gi can barely believe she is there. Da Reum admits that she came back early because she missed him and runs to hug him. After spending months pretending he could calmly handle the distance, he drops his controlled demeanor and embraces her in return.
The experience in Paris did not pull Da Reum away from her boyfriend. On the contrary, the two reunite more certain about what they want for the future.
Ha Gi proposes to Da Reum
The most romantic moment comes during a walk in the park. Ha Gi gives Da Reum a ring and says that he wants to become the place she can come home to every day.
This time, there is no contract, misunderstanding, or secret between them. Ha Gi asks Da Reum whether she wants to stay by his side, and she says yes. They kiss and become engaged.
The drama does not show the wedding, but it makes the couple’s decision to build a life together clear. Therefore, Ha Gi and Da Reum end My Bias, My Boss together and committed to their future.
The proposal completes the reversal that drove the entire story. Da Reum joined Appello believing Lee Chan would be the great love of her life. In the end, she understands that her admiration for the idol mattered because it brought her there, but her real relationship was built with Ha Gi.
Lee Chan does not get a romantic ending
Lee Chan accepts that Da Reum chose Ha Gi and steps away from the love triangle. That does not make his ending a defeat. The character’s true resolution is tied to D.N.X and his desire to return to the stage.
For much of the story, he tries to give the impression that he moved on after the group’s breakup. In reality, he is never able to completely let go of his former bandmates or his connection with fans.
Da Reum’s support helps him admit that he still wants to sing with D.N.X. She shifts from being a potential girlfriend to taking on an equally important role: that of a fan who reminds him who he was before he lost his confidence.

Roy returns and D.N.X reunites

In the final episode, he seeks out Lee Chan and reveals the feelings he had hidden for all those years. Their conversation does not erase the past, but it allows the former members to stop living trapped by the breakup.
With Roy back by their side, D.N.X is whole again and reunites after nine years. The song “You,” created by Lee Chan and previously presented as an incomplete recording, becomes the track that celebrates the reunion.
The fan song serves as a message to those who kept waiting for the group—including Da Reum herself. Lee Chan does not win over the protagonist, but he recovers something he lost long before meeting her at Appello: his identity as a member of D.N.X.
Choi Sung Wook has one final act of conscience
Choi Sung Wook is confirmed as the employee who passed Appello’s information to SE Corporation. The discovery devastates Ha Gi because he did not see Sung Wook merely as a subordinate. He was someone Ha Gi trusted and who had been part of the company’s journey.
However, the final episode shows that Sung Wook did not hand over the final version of the proposal prepared by Appello to its rivals. It was his last act of conscience before his betrayal was discovered.
This helps explain why the company is able to outperform its competitor and finalize the partnership with HAN. His action does not erase the leaks or immediately restore Ha Gi’s trust. The ending does not turn Sung Wook into an innocent man; it simply shows that, at the last moment, he draws a line and prevents even greater damage.

Appello emerges stronger
Appello overcomes the sabotage attempt, beats SE Corporation’s competition, and begins its collaboration with HAN. The arrival of new employees at the final gathering shows that the company continues to grow even after the crisis.
Ha Gi remains in charge of the business, but he is no longer the closed-off executive from the early episodes. He learns that he cannot protect the company or the people he loves by controlling every decision alone.
Da Reum, meanwhile, is no longer seen merely as the newcomer who got the job because she was a Lee Chan fan. Her work on the HAN project and her experience in Paris confirm her professional growth.
The ending transforms Da Reum’s dream
Da Reum begins the story believing that fulfilling a dream means staying close to Lee Chan. When she joins Appello, she discovers that meeting her idol is not the end of the journey, but the beginning of a life she still needs to build for herself.
Lee Chan remains important. D.N.X’s music stayed with her for years, and the courage to seek out her “favorite” is what brought her to the company. But Da Reum does not need to turn that admiration into romance for it to have value.
Ha Gi also understands that loving Da Reum does not mean keeping her close at all times. His greatest gesture is not the ring he presents in the park, but his earlier decision to encourage her to travel even though he wanted her to stay.
The marriage proposal works because it happens after that choice. Da Reum returns not because she gave up her dream, but because she was able to live it. Ha Gi does not need to stop her from leaving to be sure that she will return.
In the end, Da Reum achieves the career she wanted, becomes engaged to Ha Gi, and sees Lee Chan return to the stage with a complete D.N.X. Each person finds a different way to follow their own heart—and no one has to give up who they are to reach a happy ending.
