This article contains spoilers for the finale of My Love for You, available on Viki. The final episode concludes the legal proceedings against the criminals responsible for the story’s conflicts and reveals what happens to Miaojing and Chen Yi after they return to Haicheng.
What Happens in the Finale
The finale begins a few months after Chen Yi’s hospitalization, as he is discharged from the hospital. He and Miaojing attend the trial of Zhang Bin, Tao Jiang, and Zhai Fengmao.
Based on the evidence provided by the couple, the judge finds Zhang Bin guilty of smuggling, arson, and attempted murder, while Zhai Fengmao is convicted for his involvement in the arson. Both are sentenced to life imprisonment. Tao Jiang receives an eight-year prison sentence.
The court’s decision brings Zhou Kang’an’s pursuit of justice to an end. Years earlier, Zhai Fengmao was responsible for the fire that killed Wenwen, Zhou Kang’an’s fiancée. After the verdict, Zhou Kang’an salutes outside the courthouse before visiting the dress shop where Wenwen once worked.
He decides to begin a new chapter in his life and moves into the home he had prepared for the two of them.
Miaojing and Chen Yi return to Haicheng. In recognition of her role in minimizing the risks faced by the Hao Yun company, Miaojing receives a promotion.
During their time in the city, Chen Yi reveals that he used to watch over Miaojing from a distance during college. However, he kept his distance because he believed that becoming involved with her could expose her to the dangers surrounding his life.
Later, Bo Zai visits the couple and learns that Chen Yi is preparing to open a new and larger billiards hall in Haicheng. Bo Zai expresses interest in working there and encourages Chen Yi to propose to Miaojing.
That night, while the couple is on the terrace of their home, Miaojing takes the initiative and proposes to Chen Yi. He accepts.
Ending Explained: The Meaning Behind the Finale
The final episode of My Love for You focuses on resolving the remaining elements of the crime storyline before showing the protagonists beginning their new lives.
The conviction of the antagonists serves as the story’s definitive turning point, separating a past marked by constant danger from Miaojing and Chen Yi’s more stable future in Haicheng.
Chen Yi’s revelation that he secretly watched over Miaojing during college adds new meaning to their relationship. It shows that his desire to protect her existed long before they officially reunited.
Miaojing’s marriage proposal also reverses the expectation established by Bo Zai earlier in the episode. Instead of Chen Yi proposing, Miaojing is the one who formalizes their commitment.
Her decision is particularly meaningful because Chen Yi had struggled with feelings of insecurity and doubts about whether he deserved a future with her. By taking the initiative, Miaojing confirms that she has chosen him and reinforces her control over the new life she wants to build.
For Zhou Kang’an, the conclusion of the criminal case also brings an end to the period of grief that had kept him trapped in the past.
The scene at the dress shop suggests that he has finally accepted his loss. His decision to live in the home he and Wenwen had planned to share allows him to honor her memory without continuing to devote his life to revenge.

Explanation of the Final Scene
