The final episode of A Shop for Killers Season 2 focuses on resolving the conflict between Murderhelp and Babylon. The season ends by completing Jeong Ji-an’s transformation from a survivor guided by her uncle into a leader capable of navigating and manipulating the inner workings of the assassin world.
The finale reveals the strategy behind the confrontation, determines the fate of the central antagonists, and shifts the balance of power between the main characters.
The strategy involving Jin-man
The final episode answers the mystery surrounding Jeong Jin-man’s capture. The series reveals that Q did not capture him by accident; Ji-an deliberately had him sent directly to Kusanagi.
Ji-an’s plan was to use Kusanagi’s arrogance against him. Kusanagi extracts Jin-man’s biometric information to gain access to Murderhelp’s data and hunt down its registered assassins, believing he has won the conflict. However, Ji-an had already anticipated his move. She mirrors her opponent’s strategy, appearing to surrender ground before placing a bounty on Kusanagi’s head. Suddenly, the hunter becomes the hunted.
The truth for Q and Kusanagi’s isolation
Kusanagi’s downfall becomes inevitable once he begins losing his allies. The story reveals that he manipulated Q by falsely claiming that Jeong Jin-man was responsible for J’s death.
Ji-an tells Q the truth. After realizing that he had been used, Q abandons his alliance with Babylon and helps Jin-man escape. However, Q’s arc ends abruptly: after fulfilling that role, he simply decides to return home, leaving the battlefield without seeking a direct confrontation with Kusanagi.
With Q gone and his lies exposed, Kusanagi loses control of his own organization and finds himself completely isolated.
Kusanagi’s death and the truce
The series reveals that Babylon’s leaders, led by Chen, begin direct truce negotiations with Jin-man and Ji-an, leaving Kusanagi out of the process. In his final scene, Kusanagi is shown fixing his hair in front of a mirror even as he is cornered—a gesture that highlights his inability to accept defeat and his fading importance within the organization’s power structure.
Jeong Ji-an is the one who ultimately ends the conflict. She enters the room and kills Kusanagi with a single shot to the head. The moment makes it clear that the final act does not belong to Jin-man or to Q’s revenge, but to Ji-an’s emergence as the story’s new decision-maker.
“Listen carefully, Jeong Jin-man”
The season ends with a conversation between Ji-an and Jin-man that reverses the dynamic established in the first season.
When Jin-man asks what comes next, Ji-an replies, “Now, listen carefully, Jeong Jin-man.” The line signals that she no longer needs his guidance.
The series leaves the organization’s future deliberately open. With a potential truce with Babylon on the table, it remains unclear whether the characters will return to an ordinary life or continue Murderhelp’s operations. Instead, the episode focuses on Ji-an fully accepting her new identity and authority. So far, Disney+ has not confirmed the development of a third season.
