Episode 12 of Our Sticky Love wraps up the central conflicts by revealing the true connection between the main characters and the dark past surrounding Baek Sang-gil’s (Heo Sung-tae) criminal organization. The biggest question—whether Eun-sae (Ha Young) regains her memory—is finally answered, changing her relationship with Tae-ha (Jung Hae-in) and setting the stage for the series’ final confrontation.
The series brings its major storylines to a satisfying conclusion, without leaving any significant loose ends or obvious setup for a continuation.
Eun-sae’s memory recovery and plan
The series confirms that Eun-sae fully regains her memories. It happens suddenly while she is being taken away by Kaito, Tae-ha’s brother, when she witnesses an explosion. Overwhelmed by the traumatic memories that come rushing back, she decides to distance herself from the brothers and returns to Seoul.
Back in the capital, Eun-sae resumes her life with a clear goal: to take legal action and bring Baek Sang-gil’s operations to an end. She gathers and organizes the evidence that originally made her a target and ultimately led to the accident that caused her memory loss. The storyline confirms that her legal strategy succeeds, although it comes at a significant personal cost.
Tae-ha’s lie and Sang-gil’s true identity
The ending finally explains why Tae-ha pretended to be Eun-sae’s boyfriend while she had amnesia. As someone working for the same gang that was pursuing her—and who had secretly cared for her since their school days—Tae-ha saw the romantic lie as the only realistic way to keep her close, safe, and under his protection, far from Sang-gil’s reach.
The biggest revelation about Tae-ha’s past, however, involves his family: Sang-gil is revealed to be Tae-ha’s biological father. Years earlier, Sang-gil trained as a boxer but was expelled from the sport for cheating. After being recruited into the criminal underworld, he abandoned Tae-ha’s pregnant mother because of his own personal trauma. The narrative’s irony comes full circle when it is revealed that Tae-ha grew up to unknowingly work for his own father’s organization.
The end of the threat
The confrontation with Sang-gil ends tragically for the antagonist but ultimately ensures the safety of the main characters. Realizing that the destructive cycle surrounding his criminal life is about to consume his own son, Sang-gil makes one final decision.
Without ever openly revealing to Tae-ha that he is his father, Sang-gil takes his own life, choosing to bring his criminal life to an end rather than harm his son.
The fate of Eun-sae, Tae-ha, and Su-ji
With both the legal and criminal threats finally neutralized, the last episode reveals what happens to the main couples. Eun-sae and Tae-ha remain together and officially become a couple for life, celebrating their relationship with an intimate wedding ceremony in the village, surrounded by family and friends.
The epilogue also brings the secondary romance to a close by showing An Gi-jun proposing to Min Su-ji, reinforcing the sense that peace has finally returned to the village after everything the characters have endured.
