A Parasite’s Heart is now on Netflix, bringing together elements Thai dramas handle well: romance shaped by family disputes, inheritances and old wounds. The series premiered on September 14, 2026, placing two characters rejected by their own families at the heart of the story.
In Thailand, the series is titled Hua Jai Ka Fak (หัวใจกาฝาก), while Netflix presents it internationally as A Parasite’s Heart. The name does not refer to a supernatural threat, but to the cruel label imposed on the leads, who are seen as people living off others.
Chertinnara Phongpeeradej and Varakorn Sawaskorn play the central couple. Before any romantic connection can develop, Hataya and Ramil must deal with the feeling of not belonging and relatives determined to remind them of it.
An heiress returns home
Hataya spent much of her life away from her mother’s family. She returns during a celebration at the mansion of Pichai, a real estate businessman and patriarch of a family marked by resentment.
In front of the guests, she reveals that she is the eldest granddaughter who disappeared as a child. The announcement brings the party to a halt and shifts the balance within the household. Hataya thought the reunion might end years of abandonment, but she faces resistance from the very beginning.
Pichai still associates the young woman with the conflicts involving her mother and refuses to accept her as an heir. Her arrival also unsettles those who already held a privileged position in the family. Before long, Hataya realizes that proving her identity will only be the beginning.

Ramil also knows rejection
Ramil works at one of Pichai’s developments and is assigned to keep an eye on Hataya. He must test her abilities and find out whether the young woman’s return hides an ulterior motive.
The character is introduced as a provocative man with little interest in making life easier for the new heiress. However, that attitude conceals a history similar to hers. After his mother remarried, Ramil was treated as an intruder by his new family.

Who is in the cast of A Parasite’s Heart?
Chertinnara Phongpeeradej, known as Jean, plays Hataya. The actress carries much of the emotional weight in the opening episodes, especially in the sequence where her character returns to the mansion and reveals her identity before the entire family.
Varakorn Sawaskorn, known as Chap, plays Ramil. Although the character projects a rebellious image, he has a deep relationship with his mother and hides the impact of being treated as a burden at home.
Sipatrada Phiuthong, Ndol Knin, Kowit Wattanakul, Nussara Pawanna, Andrew Kornsek Cronin, Thanyathanas Vongsawadpapha, Jaturawit Kochanuam and Thitinan Suwannasak round out the cast announced by Netflix.
The production marks Chap and Jean’s first partnership as lead actors. The contrast between Hataya’s determination and Ramil’s provocative attitude shapes the couple’s early encounters.
From literature to television
The story was inspired by the novel Wiman Sai, by Chuwong Chayachinda. Lay Nam wrote the television adaptation, while Kanawat Sangwaributr directs.
The original material provides the foundation for a melodrama about belonging, gratitude and the limits of blood ties. The struggle for a place within the family drives the narrative, but the leads’ conflict goes beyond a possible inheritance.
