The Thai BL series “Unlucky Bae” premieres this Thursday, August 6, airing on the GMM25 network and being released simultaneously on Netflix. Produced by GMMTV, the Boys’ Love series follows an accidental curse that unexpectedly brings its two main characters together.
What is Unlucky Bae about?
The story follows Rin (Mac Nattapat), a Fine Arts student who was raised in a family with strong ties to spiritual practices. After discovering that his ex-boyfriend, Krit (Aun Napat), has started a new relationship, Rin decides to perform a ritual to curse him using a pen he believes belongs to Krit.
However, the pen actually belongs to Khobfah (Tham Thapthong), a Business Administration student and Krit’s best friend. When the curse strikes the wrong person and Khobfah begins experiencing a series of unfortunate events, Rin is overcome with guilt. Hoping to fix the situation, he grows closer to Khobfah to protect him and reverse his streak of bad luck.
As they begin spending time together every day, romantic feelings gradually develop between them. However, Rin must hide the fact that he is responsible for the misfortune affecting the person he is falling for.
Cast and Production
TThe series is led by two rising actors from the network’s new generation:
Mac Nattapat Nimjirawat as Rin: A Fine Arts student who accidentally curses his ex-boyfriend’s best friend.
Tham Thapthong Suwanrakanan as Khobfah: A Business Administration student who begins suffering the effects of the curse.
Aun Napat Patcharachavalit as Krit: Rin’s ex-boyfriend.
The supporting cast includes Stamp Panachkorn Rueksiriaree, Prim Nattanicha Sangmanee, Juno Teeranat Kittisatto, and Lighty Namasakarn Trangkasombat. The series is directed by Apirak Chaipanha and Anan Rasamee.
Where to Watch
New episodes of “Unlucky Bae” will air every Thursday. The series will be broadcast in Thailand at 8:30 PM on GMM25. Internationally, it will be available on Netflix, with new episodes released at 12:30 PM.
