The Early Spring is a Chinese urban drama adapted from the novel of the same name by author Gu Niang Bie Ku. The story follows the evolving dynamic between Luan Nian, an established employee at Tiansheng, and Shang Zi Tao, a young woman starting a new chapter in Beijing.
Set against a corporate, urban backdrop, the narrative centers on the developing relationship between the two leads. It traces the shifts between intimacy and distance as their contrasting personalities come into play. Over the course of 24 episodes, the story focuses on both characters’ personal growth: Luan Nian learns to let down his personal and professional defenses, while Shang Zi Tao strives for independence in a new city. Their relationship unfolds alongside the everyday challenges of adult life in Beijing.
