Synopsis and details
The second season of the crime drama Flex x Cop is scheduled to premiere on Friday, August 7, 2026. The season will consist of 14 episodes, airing every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 p.m. on South Korean network SBS. The series will also be available to stream on Disney+.
The story of the second season
The story follows Jin I-soo (Ahn Bo-hyun) as he returns to Violent Crimes Unit 1 at Gangha Police Station after completing his official training at the Police Academy. The detective, who is also an heir to Hansoo Group, continues to rely on an investigative approach that makes use of his personal wealth and resources, including private jets, helicopters, and luxury vehicles, to pursue criminals.
The new season introduces Joo Hye-ra (Jung Eun-chae) as the unit’s new leader. She previously served as I-soo’s instructor at the Police Academy. The investigative partnership between the two protagonists will see them take on new cases involving bombings, crimes committed overseas, and murder investigations with multiple suspects.
Main cast and changes
Actress Park Ji-hyun, who played team leader Lee Kang-hyun in the first season, will not return for the new episodes due to scheduling conflicts. Jung Eun-chae’s role was created as an entirely new character who takes over leadership of the unit rather than serving as a direct replacement for Lee Kang-hyun.
Ahn Bo-hyun as Jin I-soo: A detective and third-generation heir to Hansoo Group who uses his wealth and extensive network of contacts to assist the team’s criminal investigations.
Jung Eun-chae as Joo Hye-ra: The new leader of Violent Crimes Unit 1. She previously led the Counterterrorism Unit and served as I-soo’s instructor at the Police Academy.
Yoo Seung-ho as Yoo Seong-won: A sculptor and the youngest son of the family behind the UBS media group. He shares a long-standing friendship with I-soo but becomes the main target of an investigation led by Hye-ra.
Corporate and police circles
Within the UBS media group, the story introduces chairwoman Jung Tae-sun (Kim Hye-eun), Seong-won’s mother, who is assisted by butler Hwang Jong-soo (Kim Jae-rok) and secretary Han Jong-hyun (Moon Jin-seung). The cast also includes Choi Jung-hoon (Kim Myung-soo), the chairman of Hansoo Group.
At Gangha Police Station, the investigative team includes detectives Park Joon-young (Kang Sang-jun) and Choi Kyung-jin (Kim Shin-bi). The station is headed by Kwon Tae-kyun (Ryu Tae-ho), while Park Chan-gun (Lee Do-yeop) serves as head of the Detective Division. Violent Crimes Unit 2, led by Ahn Byung-sik (Kim Gyeol), collaborates with the team during operations, with support from Kim Su-won, Baek In-joo, and Lee Eun-sang.
The police team is also supported by forensic pathologist Yoon Ji-won (Jung Ga-hee) and private investigator Jung Min-jae (Im Jin-seop). The production retains Kim Jae-hong as director and Kim Ba-da as screenwriter. The series is jointly produced by Studio S, Big Ocean ENM, and BA Entertainment.
